Somercotes Cherries
Tasmanian Mark Licence: 20632-231
Somercotes was settled in 1823 by Captain Samuel Horton and is one of a select number of Australian properties that has remained in continual family ownership.
Today the fresh Tasmanian cherries are grown in their orchard at Ross located in the Midlands of Tasmania. The midlands well known for their climate of cold winters and hot dry summers is ideal for cherry production. In 2025 they launched their new brand, 1823, to honour their heritage as a true Tasmanian Brand.
