Craigie Knowe Vineyard

Tasmanian Mark Licence: 20632-175
Craigie Knowe Vineyard and Cellar Door is a cherished Tasmanian family-owned establishment, passionately operated by father and son team Glenn & Alex Travers. Situated on the historic East Coast of Tasmania, Craigie Knowe holds the distinction of being the region's oldest vineyard, with roots tracing back to 1979 when visionary Hobart dentist John Austwick planted the first vines.
Initially met with scepticism by local farmers, Austwick's pioneering spirit soon proved prescient as he successfully cultivated a variety of Bordeaux Blend grapes including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petite Verdot. His venture expanded to include Pinot Noir and Riesling, establishing him as a renowned cool climate winemaker. Today, his legacy lives on in the very cellar where he first crafted his wines, now transformed into our inviting Cellar Door.
Under Glenn & Alex's stewardship, Craigie Knowe has flourished, expanding its offerings to showcase Tasmania's most beloved varietals such as Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Chardonnay. In addition to our esteemed wines, we proudly introduce the Bluff Spirits range, featuring two distinctive vodkas and three refreshing pre-mixed cans.
