    What is the Tasmanian Mark?

    The Tasmanian Mark certifies that:

    • a product of agriculture or nature has been grown, farmed or fished in Tasmania;
    • a manufactured or processed good (including processed food), has been made or Primarily Processed in Tasmania;
    • a service is provided from within Tasmania

    Using the Tasmanian Mark can help a business differentiate its products and build customer trust and confidence in their quality and origin.     Who is eligible to use the Tasmanian Mark?

    Any Tasmanian business or individual who is a Tasmanian partner can apply to use the Tasmanian Mark provided they meet the standards set out by Brand Tasmania.

    How do I apply for the use of the Tasmanian Mark?

    You can apply to use the Tasmanian Mark by completing an online registration form which will then be assessed by Brand Tasmania. Applicants must meet the criteria and standards set out by Brand Tasmania to obtain the use of the Tasmanian Mark for its products or services. This will include showing proof of how the Tasmanian Mark will be used.

    What are the guidelines for using the Tasmanian Mark?

    How often do I need to renew my Tasmanian Mark usage?

    A Licence to use the Mark is valid for a period of three years from the date of the Licence, or such shorter period as notified by Brand Tasmania. A Licensee can apply to Brand Tasmania to have the Licence renewed.

    Can I use the Tasmanian Mark on products sold outside of Tasmania?

    Yes, the Tasmanian Mark can be used on products sold outside of Tasmania as long as the usage is approved and meets the criteria and standards set out by Brand Tasmania.

    What happens if someone misuses the Tasmanian Mark?

    Misuse of the Tasmanian Mark by a Licensee will result in termination of the Licence and the owner must cease use of the Mark immediately. Please refer to item 16. Termination in our Code of Practice.

    Who is responsible for ensuring that products with the Tasmanian Mark meet the standards set by the certification program?

    Brand Tasmania staff have been designated ‘Approved Certifiers’ under the Rules and Conditions and your application will be assessed by a member of the Brand Tasmania team. Brand Tasmania is an initiative of the Tasmanian Government.

    How can consumers verify that a product with the Tasmanian Mark is authentic?

    Consumers can verify that a product is approved to use the Tasmanian Mark by contacting Brand Tasmania contacting Brand Tasmania. They can also review the Licensee page on the Tasmanian Mark website.

    Are there any fees associated with using the Tasmanian Mark?

    There are currently no fees associated with an application to use the Tasmanian Mark.

    How long will it take for my application to be processed?

    Provided all the necessary information has been supplied to Brand Tasmania, your application will be processed in approximately 10 business days. You can apply here!

    Is the Tasmanian Mark suitable for Tasmanian service providers?

    Yes, the Tasmanian Mark can be used for Tasmanian service providers as long as the usage is approved and meets the criteria and standards set out by Brand Tasmania.

    Can I use the Tasmanian Mark outside of packaging?

    The Tasmanian Mark can be utilised in range of ways other than on product packaging. Approved Licensees can use the mark on their website, marketing collateral, trade show displays, email signatures, as long as the usage is approved and meets the criteria and standards set out by Brand Tasmania.
